When you close off an app or navigate to a different app on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch the apps will remain on standby mode in the background. This can be draining on the battery and cause it to run out of charge quicker. If you want to ensure that apps are actually turned off all you need to do is follow these 3 simple steps.
First you need to view your open apps. Double tap the home button on your device. This will show you all the apps running in the background.
Now you need to find the app you wish to close. Simply swipe left or right on your screen to navigate through the apps running on your device.
Finally to close the app just swipe up on the preview for the app you wish to close.
And there you have it, thats all you have to do. Your apps are no longer running in the background.
